Rats
The Norwegian Rat is one of the most common pests in the UK and one that people rightly want to remove from their properties.
As a commensal rodent, the Brown Rat lives alongside humans, in our homes, business premises and in the areas around where we live.
Rats are mainly outdoor vermin, but if they get the opportunity to move into warmer internal spaces – especially those where they can find food – they will move in.
There are two distinct populations of rats in the UK: the urban rat and the rural rat. Depending on the type of rats you have in your property may affect how they are dealt with.
There’s no shame in having rats in your home or commercial property. It doesn’t suggest your home or property is in any way dirty or poorly maintained. Rats can find their way into properties through a number of different routes, including very small voids and even through the drainage system.
Often we have to set up trail cameras to understand their behaviour to ensure your property has the proper level of protection.
Rat control includes proofing properties to keep rats out of the building, whilst also denying them a food supply, putting down traps and using rodenticide when required.
Prevention is better than cure when it comes to controlling rats on your property. If you’ve got a rat problem or would like to make sure you don’t have a future rat infestation please get in touch, we’d be happy to help.
